Guide overview
Use the intake conversation to learn what the student actually wants: confidence, fitness, self-defense, weight management, social connection, competition, or stress relief. Translate that into one clear outcome goal and one process goal they can practice weekly.
A useful structure is: “In 90 days I want to ___; this week I will ___.” The instructor can then connect ordinary class work to that goal so the student sees progress in real time.
What to practice
- Start with why the student is here
- Separate outcome goals from process goals
- Pick a 30-day and 90-day milestone
- Make the goal visible in class
Small practice adds up.
Confidence grows through repetition, support, and a clear next step. Use the guide, then come back to class ready to keep building.
